This month Protect the Wild has been pleased to be able to respond to a request from Cotswolds Hunt Sabs (formerly the South West Hunt Sabs) for help topping up public donations they’d received to buy personal safety equipment to use in the field. As their name suggests the Cotswolds Hunt Sabs mostly sab hunts in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, including the notorious Vale of White Horse which was recorded by the Hunt Investigation Team deliberately and intentionally hunting a fox last year.
We are asking any group who receives funds from us to write a few words for us – not because we want to be thanked (it’s the brave sabs and monitors who deserve the thanks), but to show our supporters where their money is going! We think that in turn will help us grow our ‘equipment fund pot’ so we can help more groups. You support us, we help them, they protect wildlife. How’s that for a virtuous circle..

“We would like to give you an update on our group we have recently been over whelmed by the donations we have received from the members of the public. To get our vehicle fixed, we have now got the funds and booked in for repairs. We know that times are hard, and this makes us app even more every single penny.
Another massive shout out to #protectthewild we have been blown away by the level of support and funding we have received.
We all need to work together, Monitors, and Sabs, members of the public and wildlife organisations to help protect our wildlife. We have been able to buy 4 brand new radios and a Bodycam all essential equipment in keeping our group safe. and also in constant communication with each other. We will be forever in your debt.” (Facebook 08 March 2023)
