ADOPT A DEER TODAY
Traditional deer hunting with hounds was banned in England and Wales under the 2004 Hunting Act. It was banned in Scotland under the Wild Mammals Protection (Scotland) Act 2002, and further tightened by the passing of the Hunting With Dogs (Scotland) Bill in January 2023.
Yet three stag hunts continue to operate in England, still killing deer as our Hunting: A Case for Change report proves:
- the Devon & Somerset Stag Hounds who hunt within the Exmoor National Park;
- the Quantock Stag Hounds who hunt on the Quantock and Brendon Hills to the east of Exmoor;
- the Tiverton Stag Hounds that hunt the valleys of the Exe, Taw and Torridge.
By adopting a deer with Protect the Wild you will help fund our ongoing efforts to expose illegal hunting and our work to ensure greater protection for wild deer by campaigning for a new law that will ban hunting of mammals for good.

We will also keep you up to date by email on our latest campaigns and the important impact we’re having to safeguard wild deer.

Your support will help us deliver our vision to empower people to protect British wildlife and end deer hunting for good.
WE DO THIS BY:
- Funding equipment and fuel for activists on the frontline sabotaging and monitoring hunts.
- Pressuring and influencing decision makers to adopt our ‘proper ban’ on hunting through the Hunting of Mammals Bill.
- Educating the public about the realities of deer hunting through hard-hitting animations, reports, articles, and surveys.
- Producing regular news and opinion pieces to expose the cruelty inflicted on deer across the UK.
We’re proud to say our beautiful Deer adoption cuddly animals are manufactured and filled with 100% recycled polyester made from plastic waste.
Adoption pack delivery information
We will process and send your order within five working days and would normally expect it to arrive within seven working days.
Please note – we cannot hold orders for delivery on a specific time.
We welcome international orders but some may be subject to additional local taxes on delivery. We are unable to predict these in advance of shipping your parcel.
Orders do not need to be signed for. A card will be left if you’re unavailable.
