When does the fox hunting season begin?

The main fox hunting season usually takes place between the end of October to early April whilst the ‘cubbing season (often referred to by hunters as Autumn Hunting) takes place between August and the end of October.

This leaves a period of around 3-4 months where hunts are not actively out killing wildlife. However there are a number of practices and activities related to hunting which go on all year round. These include fundraising events (Hunt balls and Point to Point for example) as well as darker activities such as breeding foxes to be hunted, creating artificial earths, and feeding fox cubs to hounds to train them to kill.
