Can I feed foxes in

my garden?

Lamping is a loose term that covers a number of different activities. However, they all take place at night and they all result in the murder of wildlife in the British countryside.

Feeding foxes comes with a degree of controversy with trying to balance supporting nature but also maintaining the fox’s natural behaviour.

Feeding foxes can alter their natural behaviour.  If they have a free meal, they will stop hunting and they will lose their fear of humans.  This can also result in the fox having no fear of pets and vehicles.

If you choose to feed your garden visitors, please avoid trying to tame them or hand feeding them.  Whilst building a close relationship with a wild animal seems like a good idea, it can negatively impact the animal’s life.
