Protect the Wild Launches HuntHavoc.info: Exposing Hunt Carnage

Protect the Wild has launched a powerful new website: HuntHavoc.info — created for one clear purpose: to expose the law-breaking, the chaos, and the carnage hunts are causing across Britain — and to help the public take action.

For too long, the brutal reality of hunting has been hidden behind a mask of tradition and respectability. But across the UK, hunts are running out of control. Hounds rampage through villages and private gardens. Quad bikes — often overloaded, illegal, and dangerously driven — tear across public land. Locals, monitors, and bystanders are routinely threatened and harassed simply for watching or filming. Hunts trespass, intimidate, and break not just the Hunting Act, but a raft of other laws — all with little consequence.

Enough is enough.

Powered by the frontline: saboteurs and monitors

Most of the reports collected so far at HuntHavoc.info come from hit reports and evidence gathered by hunt saboteur and monitor groups — the frontline defenders of Britain’s wildlife. Without them, much of the havoc hunts cause would stay hidden. Their courage and commitment have been crucial in exposing what’s really happening, and Protect the Wild is proud to work alongside them to bring this truth to light.

In fact, 99% of the incidents logged so far are connected to sab and monitor groups. We want to be clear about this: these groups are invaluable, and their work is vital.

Revealing the scale of the problem

Already, HuntHavoc.info has logged several hundred incidents and more are being added all the time. At the moment, many of the reports involve quad bike incidents — but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As the platform grows, the full picture of the havoc caused by hunts — from killed pets to torn-up farmland — will become impossible to ignore.

Every three months, the data will be updated and mapped, providing a clear, public record of hunt-related law-breaking across the country. This evidence will be made freely available to journalists, campaigners, MPs, and the public — a permanent record of the rural havoc many politicians would rather pretend doesn’t exist.

Real lives, real victims

This isn’t just about statistics. It’s about real harm, real communities, and real loss.

Mini the cat, beloved by her family, was killed by hounds from the Western Hunt — right in her own garden.

A fox was torn apart by the West Norfolk Foxhounds after they chased it into a private garden, in full view of residents.

Hounds have invaded school grounds, cemeteries, children’s play areas, and nature reserves.

Quad bikes tear up common land, protected sites, and public bridleways with impunity.

This is not “harmless tradition.” This is carnage, and it’s happening right now in the heart of rural Britain.

Why does it continue?

The question must be asked: How are hunts getting away with this?

Despite years of overwhelming evidence — thousands of incidents, videos, and first-hand accounts — very few hunts or individuals have been prosecuted. Time and again, hunts hide behind the excuse of “trail hunting,” use loopholes in the Hunting Act, or rely on local authorities and police forces turning a blind eye.

The culture of entitlement and lawlessness within the hunting world runs deep — and without real pressure from the public and politicians, nothing will change.

That’s why HuntHavoc.info matters.

Turning anger into action

HuntHavoc.info isn’t just about exposing the problem — it’s about empowering action.

The site includes a simple, effective tool that allows users to send a pre-drafted letter directly to their MP. With just a few clicks, you can highlight the incidents happening in your constituency, demand action, and call for a Proper Ban on Hunting — a real, enforceable end to this chaos, not just empty promises.

The site’s interactive map makes it easy to see how widespread the problem is — and even easier to hold your elected representatives accountable for helping ensure the carnage is ended.
